5-7-2016

Jed and his crew came up from the Harrisburg area to try their luck with some lake trout.  First trip of the year for the Rough House.  Left the dock at 5:4 and headed east towards the Laker grounds.  Ended the day 14/20 all big fish with the group taking home 8.  Biggest tipped the scales at 23lbs.  Beautiful day on the lake.  Mostly a spoon bite for us today. DW's, Pirates, and Stingers, but did get a few on flashers with sng's.  Riggers, dipsy, and LC was the program.

8-23-2015

Jamie and crew with their limit of walleye. Accidentally filleted one before pic was taken.

8-22-2015

Rich, Bill, and Matt came up from kittanning for some walleye fishing. Closed the lid on number 18 plus a steelies at 10:45. Reefs on lc did the job along with dipsys and riggers. Great job guys. Happy birthday Bill!

8-19-2015

Andy L. and crew boxed 23/26 walleye and 3 bonus steelies today. Pretty decent for a late start at 7am this morning. Good job fellas!

8-16-2015

Dennis W. and crew with their catch today. 20/25 on walleye and 5/6 on steelhead. AM bite was great but it died off in the afternoon just like yesterday. Good time on the lake today.

8-15-2015

Wes W. and crew boxed 21 eyes, a steelie, and a laker today. Awesome morning bite but it faded out pretty quick for us. Tons of dropped fish for us today. Good crew.

8-9-2015

Today's fishing was an eye opening experience with ups and downs. Lee, Kyle, Randy, and Gabler came up to fish for some walleye. Nice lake on the way out with 2-3 footers. Our first slide yielded 17 walleyes in the first hour and a half. Some of the best and fastest fishing this year for us. Dipsys and riggers with spoons were on fire. Boards with reefs and t sticks on weighted lc were no slouches either. The lake built up pretty quick giving us 4-6 with an occasional 7. Dec
ided to pick up and run back to where we started instead of trolling into the waves to try and get our last 7 fish. As we were on our way a distress call came out over the radio from another boat within close proximity to us that was taking on water. We motored toward the vessel along with a few other boats in the area to assist. After everything transpired the vessel was able to stay afloat and everyone on board were safe and sound. Good job Captain Camp for keeping your cool in a serious and scary situation. Props also go out to vessel Two Suns, Captain Ken and crew from blacktop charters, Captain Jason and crew from outcast fishing charters, and the Erie coastguard for the quick response and help. It's awesome knowing that there's people out there to help when your in dire straits. After all that we decided to end the day early because of the building seas, not to mention my crew all got the Erie flu. Thanks to my charter guests for sticking it out. You never know what can happen on the big pond.

8-8-2015

Nathan, Alex, Jesse, Terry, and Vaughn came up from kittanning pa for Nathan's graduation present Lake Erie walleye charter. Left the dock at 6 and headed out. Pretty good bite from when the rods hit the water today. Boxed 29/31 walleye and a bonus perch. Good times on the lake today. Reefs and t sticks on lc got the job done. Spoons on dipsys took 8. Vaughn not pictured.

8-7-2015

Greg R. And family came up to Erie from kittanning for a walleye trip. Left the dock at 6 am and headed out. Setup and it was a slow bite for us in the morning. The bite picked up late morning though and as the 17th walleye hit the box the crew decided that they had enough fish to go around. T sticks and reefs on lc was the program. Dipsys took a couple. A bonus jack brown trout was caught as well.

8-6-2015

Frank, Susan, and Kaitlyn came up from the Pittsburgh area for their first evening Lake Erie walleye charter. We left the dock at 3:30 and headed out. The lake and waves were a lot better then yesterday. We set up and the bite was a little on the slow side but we managed 12/17 on walleye and a bonus brown trout. Had to deal with a little bit of junk fish as well. Great evening on the water. T sticks and reefs on lc was the program with one dipsy bite on a spoon.

8-5-2015

Mike M. And family came up from Pittsburgh for their first Lake Erie walleye evening charter. Left the dock at 3:30 and headed out. We were greated by some stiff NW winds and some sharp 2-3 footers. We toughed it out as long as we could but had to shut down the trip early because of the building seas. 5-6 footers made their appearance. We ended 7/11 on walleye.

8-1-2015

Rich, Tyler, Bug, Rylie, and Josh came up for their annual Lake Erie walleye trip. Left the dock at 6 AM and headed out. Pretty rough conditions today with 3-4 footers with the occasional 5 mixed in. Took us an hour and 20 minutes to get to the fishing grounds. Setup up to troll with the waves and had a pretty slow bite the first pass only boxing 5 eyes and a steelie. Picked up and ran back down and the bite got a little better. Ended the day with 16 eyes and a steelie. LC with reefs and sticks worked along with weighted sticks. Dipsys only took the steelie.

7-26-2015

Jack B. and family from Erie set out today for a walleye charter. Left the dock at 6 am and headed out. Slower start today then previous days boating 6 eyes and a couple white bass. Trolled around for a little bit longer to no avail so we decided to pick up and run to another spot. Set back up and a decent bite was found. We ended the day with 16 walleye and 4 bonus perch. T sticks on lc and dipsys got the bites. 1 rigger fish.

7-25-2015
Dave K. and family with their Lake Erie Walleye catch.

Dave K. and family came up for a Lake Erie walleye trip. Left the dock at 6 and headed out. As we set up a horrible sound started ringing out. Came to find out that our Brand new fuel pump was faulty so we decided not to travel any further then we were. Am bite was pretty good boating 11 eyes by 8:30 but yet again the bite shut down for us when the sun came overhead. We trolled around a were only able to boat 1 more eye out of 3 bites with another getting off right at the net. Still had a good time though and the boats back up and running good.

7-24-2015
Ben F. and friends with their walleye catch.

Ben F. and buddies reeling in a Triple!!!

Ben F. and his buddies came up from Clarion PA to try their luck for some Lake Erie walleye. We left the dock at 6 and headed out. We were greeted by clear skies and smooth sailing. The morning fishing was good getting 15 eyes by 10am but the bite SHUT DOWN for us as the wind died and the lake calmed down. From 10-1 we trolled only managing 2 more walleye and a couple white bass. Great day on the water nonetheless. 17 eyes hit the cooler and they were Giants. T sticks on lc did the job. Dipsys took a couple.

Little bumpy heading out but it turned into a beautiful day. 25 huge eyes along with a bonus steelie hit the cooler. Great times today aboard the Rough House. Pretty steady bite today with a couple down times. T sticks on LC did the trick. Dipsys with spoons were working good taking 7-8 fish today.

7-18-2015 / 7-19-2015
Mike S. and crew with their day 2 walleye catch.

Mike S. and crew with their day one walleye catch.

Tripled up on walleye!

Day 1 - Mike S. and buddies came up from Williamsport for their annual weekend walleye bash. Fished Saturday with a slow bite and a ton of boat traffic and managed to box 12 giant walleye. Only 2 of them weighed less than 7lbs. T sticks on LC and meat did the job.

Day 2 - Sunday we decided to fish a different location and 28 eyes hit the cooler. The morning bite was a little slow but it picked up later in the morning. Meat and bay rats on LC were the ticket today. 3 bonus perch hit the cooler.

7-16-2015
Chuck A. and group with there lake erie walleye catch

Chuck A. Came up with his friends and family for a Lake Erie walleye trip. Left the dock at 6 am and headed out. Fished against the grain today staying shallow instead of hitting the deep water and it paid off. We boxed our 24th eye at noon and called it a day. Renoskys and bay rats on lc and meat did the damage. Great day on the water.

Dan N. evening walleye charter

Dan N. And family came up from Mercer PA for their first ever evening Lake Erie walleye trip. Left the dock at 3:30pm and headed back out to the grounds. Fished generally the same area as this morning but a little shallower. Slow but a decent pick none the less for an evening charter. 16 eyes and 1 released steelhead were boated among countless silver bass. Same program as this morning with a few tweaks. Bangos on LC and meat on the boards did the work. Dipsys chipped in for a couple.

7-11-2015
Chris T. walleye trip

Chris T. and crew from Ohio came over for their annual pa walleye charter. Left the dock at 6am and headed out to the grounds. We were greeted with sunshine and a flat lake. We ended the day with 12 hog walleye.

7-9-2015
Jon W. and family with a nice lake erie walleye catch

Jon W. And family came up from Altoona for there first Lake Erie walleye charter. Left the dock at 6am and headed out. Lots of rain today. Got a quad on setup and the bite stayed steady until we got blown off the lake at 11. We finished the day with 25 big walleye and 4 steelhead. Reefs on lc and jets did the damage. Med divers on lc and dipsys with spoons and meat put some fish in the cooler as well. All in all it was a nice day out, other then the 74 inches of rain.

7-7-2015
John B. and friends came up for a Lake Erie walleye charter.  Tough day for us today.  We trolled from 30 fow to 70 fow, used all tactics and baits and covered around 20 miles of water.  We only had 6 walleye bites that we know of and only boated 4 of them with a ton of junk fish coming on the lines.  But we still had a nice day out on the water.  Just wish the fishing was better.

7-2-2015
Aaron and Anthony with there limits of walleye

Aaron and Anthony came up from Ford City, PA for a Lake Erie walleye trip. We left the dock at 6 am and headed out. Morning weather was good with 1-2 footers. Bangos and bay rats did all the work.

John P. and family with their catch of lake erie walleye

Took 24 walleye with one bonus as we were tearing down. Bagleys and bay rats did damage. T sticks took a couple.

Brad R. and his family came up from Kittanning for a lake Erie perch charter.  We left the dock at 7am and headed out to the perch grounds.  After an ok morning bite, the bite shut off and we had to go in search mode. After searching and dropping anchor a bunch of times, the fishing never got any better. Tons of silver bass with a few perch mixed in. The perch fishing so far this year has been really hit or miss. Hoping it gets better as fall starts moving in.

Guys tangling with a double!

5-24-2014

Russ R. and his son came up from Harrisburg, Pa for a half day trip to tangle with some Lake Erie lake trout.  Ran way east up towards North East, Pa and set up in 60 fow.  As soon as the riggers hit the bottom we had 2 fish wacking the spoons, followed by a slide diver bite.  After that fishing became a little spotty. Tried deeper and shallower water but only picking fish up in the 60-65 fow area. We ended the day 8/9 with some nice fish coming to the net. Best baits consisted of green and blue spoons and bay rat short shallows in cheap sunglasses. Seems that the lake trout fishing is dropping off and their starting to head to the deeper water.

8-1-2013 - 8-6-2013
Due to big waves and bad weather we had to cancel a majority of last weeks trips.  The days we did get out were productive for perch but had a few off days for the walleye. The fish got pushed out of the area we've been fishing and took a few days to find them.

7-24-2013 - 7-28-2013
Walleye fishing became a little sporadic in the beginning of the week but we found some. The big wind and waves have them scattered all over the place. Finally the lake is starting to set up with a nice thermocline setting up at about 42 feet down. Fished West of the point and had a bunch of hookups but half the fish were junk that included a ton of sheephead and white bass.
Sat. and Sun. trips were cancelled due to inclement weather, strong winds, and big waves.

7-23-2013
Tom R. And friends came up from Pittsburgh for a combo trip. After talking with the EJ we decided to ditch the perch and spend 6 hours trolling for some eyes. Headed west to where we fished yesterday.  Bite was a bit slower than yesterday with quite a bit more junk fish. We went 10/19 bites with a bunch of knockoffs and a couple getting off on the way to the boat. Wind and waves picked up about 2 hours into our start. Clean reef runners did most of the work and LC with renosky's did a couple fish. No dipsy fish.

7-22-2013
Mike and family holding there walleye catch

Mike L. and Family came up from Kittanning for a Lake Erie Walleye Trip.  Left the dock and headed west.  Started setting up and as soon as the first lure hit the water we had a taker.  After setup we hit a little slow spot but soon the bite was on. Steady picking but a storm moved in from the west so we picked up an hour and a half early and headed back to port. Ended the day with 17 nice walleye with a couple hogs, a bonus steelhead and a single perch.  Had a ton of bites, quite a few knockoffs and a few sheephead to deal with. Great group of guys to fish with and we all had a great day!!! Reef Runners clean did all the work.  Best colors were Firecracker, Chart. Wonderbread, Silver Clown, and Cranberry Crusher.

Ron's group with there catch of walleye onboard the Rough House

Ron F. and crew came up from Scranton for some Lake Erie Walleye.  Set up west of the point. Steady 3's and 4's made the ride pretty bumpy. We boxed 16 nice Walleye with a couple of hogs weighing in just under 10lbs and a bonus Steelhead. Only dropped 1 walleye.  Renosky's on LC, Reef Runners and Bombers did most of the work. Slide divers took 5 walleye with Renosky's trailing.  Best colors were Machine, Mustard Wad, Chameleon, and Purple Pink.

Art K and his friends and family headed up to Erie from State Collage for a Combo Trip.  Set up a little west of the point.  We picked up 12 walleye in the first 4 hours of the trip.  After walleye fishing we ran east and set up on some perch.  One drop was made and the bite was on.  We ended the day with 72 nice perch.  Wind and waves picked up in the last 2 hours of the trip and made the fishing a little rough.  Had some 5 and 6 footers.  Best walleye baits were RR 800's  and LC with Renosky's.  Best colors were Brunt muffin, Chameleon, and Mustard Wad.

David and his buddy made the trip up from Delaware for a Combo trip.  After the big blow the evening before the walleye were pretty scattered.  After changing baits and locations multiple times we started to hit some fish.  Tons of junk but we did manage a few walleye.  The next 4 hours were dedicated to catching some perch.  We made one Drop and that's were we stayed.  We managed a 2 man limit of perch.

Doug and family holding there early spring walleye catch

Doug B. and his family came up from Somerset to fish for some Walleye and Perch.  The morning was dedicated to catching some eyes.  We hooked up 10 for 11 with a triple to start which turned into seven fish on at once.  After walleye we gave perch a try.  Tough weekend for perch.  Made about 5 or 6 drops and had some good marks but they weren't biting.  Full moon has them feeding at night.  Best walleye baits were Clean Reef's and Renosky's on LC.  Best colors were Burnt Muffin and Purple Pink.

Dave B. and his family came up for a late spring smallmouth trip. We hit the lake and headed to the W's and set up for a good troll.  After a little time we started hooking up. It seemed though that the bigger females moved into deeper waters and are scattered. Caught only one nice smallie that went 18 inches but mostly small males mixed with some rock bass and silver bass. Did catch 3 bonus walleye fishing the shallows.

The Dreese Crew with there early spring walleye catch

The Dreese crew from out east came up to try there luck on some Lake Erie walleye. Bite was a bit slow. We picked through them and ended up 9 for 19 bites, with a ton of knock offs and a couple losses as they were heading to the back of the boat. Some really big hogs. All in all it was a beautiful day on the water and everyone on board had a great time.  Best baits were clean Reefs in Chart. Wonderbread and Purple Demon, and Renoskys on LC.

Jay D, Jason, Shake and Aaron from Worthington came up for a early summer perch trip on Saturday. We had a late start to the morning leaving the dock a little before 8am. Set up near the cribs in 42 fow. Made about 5 drops moving east until we found a steady bite. Wind and waves picked up dramatically blowing over 20 knots and 4-5 footers moved in, so we decided to head in at 1:00.  Ended the day with over 50 perch and many white perch, sheephead, and bass were mixed in as well. Many Jumbos caught.
